Christy Cummings Music Studio

Teacher: Christy Cummings B. Mus, R.M.T

A member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers Association and graduate from Mount Allison University, is a successful piano teacher with over 25 years experience teaching students ages 3 to 92. Her approach is flexible and tailored to match the students needs and ability.

Her students are encouraged to reach their goals and beyond, whether its preparing for a recital, festival or exam, or nailing that favourite piece.

With an excellent reputation and following in Toronto and Etobicoke, she is now focusing on her home studio in Hamilton located on the West Mountain and offering lessons online.

Her students regularly achieve excellent results in the RCM examinations and sometimes winners at festivals also.   She recognizes that not all students want to play classical or Royal Conservatory pieces, and that's ok too!  She will work with the student to find a repertoire that they find fun and engaging, and encourages musical development that is appropriate for the individual!

Christy is also the director of the Kaleidoscope Community Choir in Hamilton, and directs the Handbell Choir at Islington United Church in Etobicoke.

Teaching music and leading choirs is her passion and has worked with many young people inspiring the love of music and performance.  She has directed children's choirs and led musical theatre productions, as director and music director coaching children and youth and adults through the process from beginning to final performance.

She teaches beginner voice, preparing her students for  auditions, solo's or to learn that favourite song!
